Reconstructive
Who does not love marveling at the miraculous transformations
of makeovers? Or, better
yet, dreaming about their
own? These days,
gorgeous smiles, among other beauty-enhancing procedures, are not just
for celebrities. Thanks to technical advances and television exposure, cosmetic dentistry has become a possibility for people from all
walks of life, says Dr. Karas. What used to be a long and
complicated procedure that required hours of prep work and
several long visits can be a remarkably easy and comfortable
procedure today under the care of an experienced and properly
trained cosmetic dentist. Today, in about the same time it takes for
dinner and a movie, you could have a beautiful new smile, says
Dr. Karas. Because of this, people from all over the country visit
us to get the smile of their dreams.
Unfortunately though, many people are discovering that problems can arise when going to an inexperienced or poorly skilled dentist. There are many days where we get patients in, having had work done elsewhere, who have spent thousands of dollars and are unhappy with the results, says Dr. Karas. Some of the more challenging cases can be redoing previously completed dental work. Unfortunately, dentists who do not have the skill level to deliver moderate to advanced veneer cases can consequently end up with less than beautiful results. The bottom line? Cosmetic dentistry is an art and the cosmetic dentist must have an artistic talent in order to achieve the best results -- a beautiful, healthy and natural-looking smile.
Teeth Whitening
Your teeth will darken over time. Changes in the color of your teeth can be caused by such factors as the food and beverages consumed (like coffee, tea and soda). Other known factors for discoloration may include childhood medications or illnesses, tobacco use or improper oral hygiene. Restoring your natural white smile is a priority for our dental whitening team. We can provide a variety of options for whitening your smile.
Tooth whitening services are growing in popularity, and it’s one of the most requested services offered by our practice. Everyone sees the growing consumer market focused on whiter teeth. The reality is that over-the-counter, “too good to be true” solutions typically don’t work.
We are trained professionals using industry-approved methods. Our goal is to meet the needs of every patient, and every patient’s needs are different. One of the methods used by our practice is a gentle hydrogen-peroxide gel-activated solution. Our process will whiten your entire smile in one visit. Call us today for a whitening evaluation.
Nothing improves your appearance more than a Bright, White SMILE!Dental Crowns
Crowns can restore the appearance of your teeth and face and will be the same size and shape as the natural tooth. Your jaw and bite will be aligned, and it will ensure that other teeth don’t shift or take on a greater share of the work of biting and chewing. You must care for a crown as you would your natural teeth. Regular brushing and flossing will ensure that your crown will be in place for years to come!
Implant Restorations
Dental implants are an ideal option for patients with good general oral health. Implants look and feel like your own teeth and can last a lifetime if given the proper placement and maintenance. Adjacent teeth do not have to be altered to support an implant, and they are integrated into the structure of your bone, preventing gum recession and possible bone loss. Proper oral hygiene is especially important with dental implants. Dental implants can last for decades when given proper care. Learn more about implants >>>
Tooth-Colored Fillings
Dr. Karas can replace old amalgam/metal fillings that contain traces of mercury with white fillings (composite) to restore your smile and teeth to a more natural look and feel. Today’s advancements allow us to improve the appearance of unsightly fillings with new-age, state-of-the-art, tooth-colored resin or porcelain materials. These fillings bond to the tooth and strengthen it by restoring most of its original shape. Hot and cold sensitivity is greatly reduced and these new fillings require less removal of the tooth and less structure to place than those with amalgams and especially with new cavities.
Dental Bridges
Bridges are a dental device that fill the space that a tooth previously occupied. A bridge may be necessary to prevent shifting of the teeth that can lead to bite problems and/or jaw problems and resultant periodontal disease. Bridges also safeguard the integrity of existing teeth and help maintain a healthy, vibrant smile. Dr. Karas uses porcelain-bonded bridges to help keep your smile looking as natural as possible.

Veneers
Veneers are thin, semi-translucent “shells” typically attached to your front teeth. Veneers are customized from porcelain material and permanently bonded to your teeth. Veneers are a great alternative to otherwise painful dental procedures to improve the appearance of your smile.
Common problems that veneers are used for:- Spaces between the teeth
- Broken or chipped teeth
- Unsightly, stained or discolored teeth
- Permanently stained or discolored teeth
- Crooked or misshapen teeth
Veneers are a great aesthetic solution to your smile that may even help you avoid orthodontic treatment. Subtle changes to your smile can be achieved with veneers, and in most cases, veneer application is completed in only two office visits.
Please contact our office if you have any further questions on veneers. Composite Inlays & Onlays
As an alternative to crowns, Dr. Karas offers inlays and onlays to restore teeth afflicted by excessive decay. Inlays and onlays actually strengthen a tooth as opposed to a standard filling and they can help repair your tooth structure without removing much of the tooth. Created in a laboratory, your inlay or onlay will be made just for you and is bonded to the tooth’s surface.
All inlays and onlays are custom made for each patient, and many patients find them more aesthetically pleasing than crowns. The bonding material is very durable, yielding a longer lifespan than fillings as well.
